Mai & Tristan chose to have an outdoor ceremony at the beautiful Lila's Wood in Hertfordshire. We were lucky enough to have been involved in the styled shoot and the launch of this magical wedding venue back in 2015 so it was fabulous to be back for a real wedding in what was to be a very busy year for Faye & her Woodland Weddings team.
When I first met Mai she wasn't sure she wanted a bridal bouquet but I am so happy she changed her mind. The brief was bold & colorful which was easy to deliver given it was a June wedding and peonies are at their very best.
The dappled light streams into the clearing to give it a really magical quality and this combined with Faye & Sam's attention to every last detail, makes it a very special wedding venue. As you can see, the treehouse (built by Sam) and the gin bar in a renovated caravan are 2 signature features of Lila's Wood.
It was a joy for us to work down in the Woods, the atmosphere in the morning is so calm and relaxed and with so many features to decorate, we absolutely loved it.
Huge thanks to Jason at Jason Mark Harris Photography for capturing the very essence of the woodland and Mai & Tristan's special day with their family and friends.
The tipi was supplied by Country Tipis and looked fabulous when everything was in place and lit up. Mai & Tristan wanted really relaxed but stylish decorations inside the tipi so we agreed to use a mixture of old glass bottles (including an array of old gin bottles) filled with foliage and seed heads; brass candlesticks and olive and eucalyptus foliage laid down the centre of the tables.
There really are so many little touches, such as the hanging picture frames, the chill out tipis, the pond, the fire pit and the fabulous photo booth from Sharon at the Photo Booth Trailer Company
"Thank you for our beautiful wedding flowers, my bouquet was just sublime, I had so many compliments, it really made my day. All of the details and flowers dotted around the venue were beautiful, thank you, Tristan & Mai xxx"
Huge congratulations Mai & Tristan, wishing you every happiness,
Joules xx
