Fiona & Jonathan chose the beautiful Stowe House in Buckinghamshire for their civil wedding ceremony and reception. They wanted a relaxed but elegant feel for their wedding that complimented but didn't compete with the stunning historic buildings at Stowe. Fiona had her heart set on a plum and gold colour palette for the flowers and the bridesmaids' dresses.
Even the buttonholes are a little passion of mine, everything has to be perfect.
Fiona & Jonathan had their civil ceremony in the stunning Marble Saloon which has doors which open to offer views of Octagon Lake and the Corinthian Arch.
Fiona and I both wanted the flowers to have a wonderful, rich autumnal feel. I do always try and use seasonal flowers whenever I can and it was a joy for me to be able to incorporate some gorgeous British blooms from Swan Cottage Flowers, the plum coloured "Chat Noir" dahlias were just perfect and when combined with lots of textured foliage we were able to create beautifully loose and unstructured bouquets.
The wedding breakfast was in the Music Room and we were determined to create beautiful floral displays that did not overpower the stunning room with it's ornate hand painted walls, decorated in gold leaf. We decided on a long table runner for the 18 foot top table and central displays arranged on gold, glass candlesticks for the guest tables. The plum dahlias, ranunculus, astilbe & roses were softened by the addition of some pale pink Sweet Avalanche & Juliet roses and lots of textured foliage/seed heads. The food was all prepared by Lemon Zest who always deliver cuisine which looks and tastes simply divine, with music played during the wedding breakfast by the acclaimed jazz pianist Miles Nottage on the Steinway.
With so many fabulous locations for photo opportunities I couldn't resist ending with these 2 stunning images, well with a wedding on November 5th, the grand finale just had to be an impressive fireworks display courtesy of Titanium
Huge thanks to the super talented Guy Hearn for sharing the amazing images and happy days to Fiona & Jonathan,
